Under the current PPWR rule, an EU company selling packaged products directly to end users in Denmark must appoint an EPR authorised representative there. Current Danish packaging guidance lets a third-country seller register directly instead of appointing an AR. A pending EU proposal may suspend the EU cross-border rule, but it has not changed current law.
Country brief
Packaging EPR in Denmark
Register packaging producer responsibility with Danish Producer Responsibility (DPA), join a collective scheme for packaging, and report packaging data through the national route. An EU or EEA company selling directly to Danish end users needs a Denmark-established authorised representative; DPA currently allows a seller established outside the EU and EEA to register directly for packaging.

- General information

PPWR still requires annual packaging data below 10 tonnes; the dataset is simplified rather than exempt, and a Member State can set a lower simplification limit or require quarterly reporting. Under 8 tonnes uses reduced Danish reporting; it is not an exemption. The annual report is due before 1 June.
DPA remains the operational national route after PPWR application. Its current guidance distinguishes EU or EEA distance sellers, which need a Danish authorised representative, from companies outside the EU and EEA, for which that national AR requirement currently applies only to batteries. Check the rule again if the EU suspension proposal or Danish implementation changes.[EU][3][5]
Legal requirements
What the national route may require.
This is general information based on the official sources linked below. The answer still depends on the legal entity, transaction, recipient, packaging stream, and rule in force.
An EU or EEA company selling directly to end users in Denmark must appoint a Denmark-established authorised representative. Under current DPA guidance, a company established outside the EU and EEA can register directly for packaging; its national mandatory AR rule applies only to batteries.[3]

What smbf.me can help with
Service scope for Denmark.
smbf.me can prepare the Denmark entity, registration, and packaging-data checklist. Registration, representation, scheme contracting, or filing support is confirmed only after the responsible entity, access route, provider, and scope have been verified.
- Country workspace and source map for Denmark
- Obligation review from your entity, sales, and packaging facts
- Report data and evidence pack after the route is confirmed
- Registration, AR, scheme, or filing support scoped case by case
These are service boundaries, not a legal conclusion. The local authority, register, scheme, AR, or filing recipient decides acceptance.
